Installation and updates

Protrader for Desktop uses a self-updating installation which means the latest available version of the program is automatically installed. The average download size is 30 MB.

To install Protrader for Desktop just run the Protrader Desktop.exe file. During installation you will be prompted to choose the installation directory.

UPDATING THE PROGRAM

Every time started Protrader for Desktop, the Update manager checks for updates automatically. Whenever an update is available, the Update manager will display a message asking you to confirm the update. Updates can also be cancelled and installed later.

User can check for updates anytime by using Help -> Check for updates.

To disable automatic updates, go to Environment tab, click on Settings -> General -> Automatically check for updates.

UNINSTALL

To uninstall Protrader, select Start > Programs > Protrader  > Uninstall. User can also uninstall Protrader through the Control panel in the Start menu on Windows.

Uninstalling Protrader won't remove default settings or connections. These data are stored in your profile folder, which is located in one of the following locations, depending on your operation system:

Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003      Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\Protrader Desktop

Windows Vista, Windows 7, Win 8   Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Protrader Desktop

Any version of Protrader that you install, after removing Protrader for Desktop will continue to use the data from this profile folder.
